(ECNS) -- China has built the largest clean power generation system in the world over the past 10 years, with its energy self-reliance and structure having improved significantly.
China's oil and gas exploration and development kept improving from 2012 to 2022. Four oil and gas fields of hundred million ton level have been explored and 17 drilling wells with a vertical depth exceeding 8,000 meters constructed in Shunbei Oil and Gas Field in Tarim Basin of Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region.
According to Qi Lixin, chief expert of Sinopec who specialized in oil and gas exploitation, the production of crude oil in China has been growing for the past consecutive three years, reaching 199 million metric ton, and the output of natural gas has increased to 207.6 billion cubic meters, with an annual growth of more than 10 billion cubic meters.
China’s energy structure kept optimizing in the past decade. In September 2019, China’s 1,100-KV ultra high voltage direct current transmission line which starts in Xinjiang’s Junggar Basin and ends in southern Anhui in east China was put into operation to transmit Xinjiang’s clean power.
Since 2012, the State Grid of China has transmitted 3.7 trillion kWh of clean power across regions and provinces, accounting for 42.5 percent of the total cross-region electricity, according to Lu Gang, an official from the State Grid Energy Research Institute.
So far, China has built 34 UHV alternating and current lines, with the transmission scale more than twice that of 10 years ago.
From 2012 to 2022, China’s cumulative grid-connected installed wind power capacity has increased by more than 4 times, the installed capacity of solar power has increased by nearly 90 times, and the proportion of new energy in the installed capacity of electric power has increased by nearly four times to reach 26.7 percent.
