Cradle of Civilization: Hemudu Site(1/1)

Hemudu Site, a Neolithic cultural site of about 40,000 square meters, is located in the lower reaches of the Yangtze River. It takes its name from Hemudu Town in Yuyao city, Zhejiang Province where the site was originally discovered in 1973. Nearly 7,000 pieces of relics were unearthed in two rounds of excavation, including remains of rice kernels, ceramic fragments with carbonized rice and husks, wooden joints and pottery.
