Chinese embassy again advises nationals to refrain from traveling to Iran
(ECNS) -- China on Wednesday again urged its citizens to avoid traveling to Iran as the local security situation remains severe and complex.
Although Iran and Israel agreed to a ceasefire, regional tensions remain highly uncertain, said the Chinese Embassy in Iran in a notice released on its official WeChat account.
It reminded Chinese nationals to strictly adhere to relevant safety advisories. Those already in the country should ensure their personal safety, prepare for emergencies, and avoid sensitive areas, it said.
In case of emergencies, it asked Chinese nationals to call local police for help and contact the Chinese Embassy in Iran or the Consulate General in Bandar Abbas to seek assistance.
Chinese citizens who insist on traveling to Iran may face extremely high security risks, which may affect the availability of consular assistance, the embassy said.
