(ECNS) - Two companies in Hong Kong have introduced new coach services to ply the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao bridge, which is set to open Tuesday.
Wong Leung Pak, chairman of Kwoon Chung Bus, said the company will provide 462 rides a day to link Hong Kong and Macao by the massive bridge, with 20 stops in Hong Kong and prices ranging from HK$120 to HK$130 (15.3 to 16.6 U.S. dollars）per trip.
Kwoon Chung Bus will also cooperate with Macao partners to offer 62 rides between the two cities, with two stops in Hong Kong and ten stops in Macao. Prices will be HK$160 per trip or an additional HK$20 for night or holiday rides.
The company said its 53-seat coach will provide free Wi-Fi and smartphone charging facilities and is equipped with an advanced braking system along with other measures to boost safety.
Wong said the company was fully prepared for the opening of the bridge and is confident about the services it will provide.?
One Bus, also licensed to run daily services between the two cities, will offer 36 rides a day with three stops in Macao, with prices ranging from HK$170 to HK$190.?
Mr. Wu, who has?10 years of bus driving experience, said he was looking forward to the mega bridge being operational and had prepared driving licenses from the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, and Macao a couple of months ago.?
The bridge, situated at Lingdingyang in the Pearl River Estuary, is a mega-sized sea crossing linking Hong Kong, Zhuhai city in Guangdong Province, and Macao. The 55-km bridge is the longest bridge-and-tunnel sea crossing in the world.
