(ECNS) -- A China-Freight train carrying 100 TEUs of goods left the multi-modal transport center in Qingdao, Shandong Province for Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, on Wednesday.
This is the first China-Freight train of quick customs clearance mode launched by China-Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Local Economic and Trade Cooperation Demonstration Zone.
It carries a batch of goods including mechanical and electrical products, tires and Tsingtao beer with a total value of $1.97 million. Supported by the mode of quick customs clearance, this batch of goods will leave China via the Alashankou Port in Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region and are expected to arrive in Tashkent in about six days.
The mode of quick customs clearance, an enterprise-benefiting measure promoted by China's General Administration of Customs in 2021, aims to further expand the country's international logistics channels to the west and improve the efficiency of domestic railway import and export customs transit.
The quick clearance mode has greatly shortened the customs clearance time for enterprises, said Xu Yuejing, a staff member of Jiaozhou Customs.
The multi-modal transport center in the China-Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Local Economic and Trade Cooperation Demonstration Zone in Qingdao has seen a total of 621 inbound and outbound China-Europe freight trains in 2021, a year-on-year increase of over 50 percent. At present, the China-Europe freight trains at the demonstration area can reach 48 cities in 20 countries and regions, including those along the Belt and Road and the SCO members.
