(ECNS) -- An international cargo train, loaded with 15 metric tons of traditional Chinese herbal medicine spatholobus stem from Laos, made its entry at Mohan railway port in southwest China's Yunnan Province, local customs authorities announced on Monday.
This marks the first batch of traditional Chinese medicinal materials since the Mohan port (Mohan railway port included) was designated as a border port for medicinal imports on Nov. 26, 2024.
In addition to a green channel and a comprehensive consultation service for customs clearance, local customs improves inspection efficiency with intelligent monitoring equipment, allowing a quick entry of eligible goods upon arrival.
Spatholobus stem, commonly known as chicken blood vine, must undergo customs quarantine and obtain an inspection and quarantine certificate for inbound goods before it can be sold or used.
Located in Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province, Mohan Port is the largest land port on the China-Laos border and serves as a key gateway for the China-Laos Railway.
Statistics show that the China-Laos Railway has handled over 50 million metric tons of goods three years since its launch, emerging as a catalyst for regional economic growth.
