Nanjing street drenched in 80s nostalgia

(ECNS) -- An old-style barbershop, treadle sewing machine and other items from the 1980s have lured citizens and tourists to explore both sides of Nanhu East Road in Nanjing.

The immersive Objects in Life Museum offers a space for people to explore the history of Nanhu Lake.

In front of the "Nanhu Memory" wall made of candy and cookie boxes, people typically take photos to recall childhood memories.

Following cultural elements of the 1980s, Jianye District carried out the renovation of more than 30 shops, adding interactive sound and video, etc. to promote the inheritance of urban culture.

The street also launched a series of welfare activities, including "welfare", "meat" and "egg tickets," to allow people to experience the construction achievements of the city.
