(ECNS) -- China's first 10 generator units at a wind farm in Zhegu township, southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region, were officially merged into the power grid and started power generation on Wednesday.
It marks a breakthrough in wind power operation at ultra-high altitudes.
Zhegu township in Tibet, where the wind farm is located, sits at an altitude from 4,850 to 5,500 meters.
The project has a total installed capacity of 22 MW, with a 110 kV booster station.
It will help advance technical application of wind power generation in ultra-high areas.
