On the commemorative stamps of "National Park" issued on November 5, Wuyi Mountain National Park was once again listed as a "name card of China" since its first inclusion in 1994.

Over the past decade, taking on the mission of "protecting the authenticity and integrity of natural ecosystems," the national park has set an example of ecological environmental protection. At the COP15 UN Convention on Biological Diversity held in Kunming last October, Wuyi Mountain National Park was included in the first group of national parks.

Covering a total area of 1,280 square kilometers, Wuyi Mountain National Park is the world's largest largely intact mid-subtropical forest ecosystem in the same latitude. For over a century, biologists across the world have discovered more than 1,000 new species here, which earns it the reputation as a "biological treasure house," and provides a strong basis for studying Asian amphibians and reptiles. In the park, national protected animals like Cabot's Tragopan, Silver Pheasant, Elliot's Pheasant, and Chinese merganser live in harmony. The first-class national protected plants like Chinese yew, gingko, bell calyx and water pine also thrive here.

Mount Wuyi is more than a natural wonder. As a World Cultural and Natural heritage, it has witnessed the history of Wuyi rock tea, as a Chinese symbol, being exported overseas, fostering a prosperous "Ten-Thousand-Li (5,000 kilometers) Tea Road" and "Maritime Silk Road." It has also seen the glorious days of Zhu Xi's Neo-Confucianism in the 11th century, and the exchanges and mutual learning between Asian and European civilizations.

Over the past decade, Mount Wuyi has put the idea of "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets" into practice, and abided by China's commitment to a greener and more prosperous future. It has been evaluated by UNESCO as a demonstration base for practicing the global principles of sustainable development, which is China's excellent "report card" to the world.
