The laboratory was put into use in Panyu District of Guangzhou, capital of south China's Guangdong Province on Saturday afternoon. It was built in about 10 hours.
The laboratory has a testing capacity of 150,000 samples per day, the highest in the country. It uses the 10 in 1 testing method, which means every batch of 10 samples are tested together, and those showing positive will be re-tested one by one. The method has expedited the testing process, with the testing capability increasing to 1.5 million samples per day.
