(ECNS) -- China's Platform of Advanced Photon Source (PAPS) technology R&D project started trial operation on Monday in Beijing.
The PAPS aims to provide strong support for construction, testing and technology R&D for the High Energy Proton Source (HEPS).
The PAPS is to develop key technologies required for HEPS like radio frequency and cryogenics, magnetic measurement, detector technology R&D and testing, X-ray optical inspection, etc.
The construction of the 4-year project began in May 2017 and passed test in June 2021.
It has achieved many scientific results, for example, the high Q 1.3 GHz 9-cell cavities have reached internationally advanced standards.
